Basic Tees with Kit And Ace

I know what you’re thinking…$78 for a t-shirt?! Let’s just start off by saying these basic tees are really worth it.

Here’s the back story: Sophia and I can be found frolicking in the Short North almost every week for happy hour or grabbing dinner. For fashion hunting…. not so much with the high boutique prices. Kit and Ace, a new apparel store in the Short North (formerly the Homage location), opened earlier this year and invited us to an event where we were gifted the basic Brighton Tee.

After setting aside the price factor, we quickly learned what Kit and Ace was all about: quality everyday items. The “technical cashmere” is a combination of cashmere and different fabric blends that can be machine washed at home. I’m happy to report that the fabric holds up well after a wash and also does not shrink (tops are already pre-shrunk). Sophia also had an oil stain the first day she wore her Brighton Tee and to her delight, the stain came out after one wash.

Let me tell you, this material is SOFT and luxurious. Sophia and I LOVE (understatement) our Brighton tee so much that we pretty much wear it everyday. When it comes to our style we like items that are easy to wear, made well, can be worn multiple ways, and are timeless. Boom, all of those checked off with this tee. I plan on purchasing the same shirt in black soon.

Sophia went back to the store to shop for some items to liven up her fall wardrobe. She decided to get the Elliot Tee in hthr plum. The v-neck adds a feminine touch and the color embraces the fall color palette, but looks great year round.

Word of caution, the sizes of the shirts are tiny. I walked into the store thinking I would wear my normal x-small or small, but had to go up a few sizes. Depending on the style and cut of the item, I can be up to size 10. We both have the Brighton tee in size 6 and the shirt fits us differently, which gives two contrasting looks. I love wearing oversized shirts and I like how this drapes by going up in size.

We love wearing our shirts in different ways! Most days we wear them with yoga pants and Nikes, but love the versatility of these items. Plus, we feel fabulous in them either way. Knot it up to add extra detail, dress it up with a skirt, throw on a vest or leather jacket, or add a statement necklace!
