I remember my first time trying paella in a local restaurant right off the Ramblas in Barcelona. Served hot in carbon steel pans and full of flavor, this was one dish I could never forget. Both Kathy and I have had the chance to eat some real deal paellas in Spain, so when she told me Barcelona Restaurant & Bar offered up an authentic paella – I had to try it for myself.
Let me tell you, paella was on point. Since my first taste at Barcelona, I have always gone back to order the same thing for dinner: Paella Barcelona. It’s the perfect melody of chicken, chorizo, shrimp, squid, clams, mussels, sofrito, piquillo peppers, peas, & calasparra rice!
I also love coming back for lunch to order the Paella de Mariscos (same as Paella Barcelona without the chicken/chorizo & at half the price!). For both lunch and dinner they cook & serve their paellas in steel pans just like in Spain!
